By Sabeel Samrah, 8th grade student, Whitehorse Middle School

The idea behind the project came to me after the post-election violence and conflict. The idea was to show that the Whitehorse 8th grade community will not allow hateful actions and/or words to express our opinions. Students participated in the project by voluntarily signing the posters to show agreement with the prior state mentioned and everyone who signed took a picture together. I thought it would be important to share with our Madison community, to show something the media doesn't see often nowadays: unity.

Dr. Seuss phrased it nicely, "A person is a person, no matter how small", and we, as youth, can make the difference to stop racism and other oppression.
