MSCR Afterschool Youth Resource Center (YRC) at Whitehorse Middle School

YRC Programming is drop in and open to all students in the school.  YRC is not a child care program and does not operate on all school days.  Programming is interest based and promoted primarily through school announcements and in school sign ups. YRC operates most Mondays – Thursdays from the third week of September – the third week of May.

After School Schedule:

 Monday-Thursday

 3:00-3:45pm: Homework clubs and specialty clubs meet

 3:45pm: City buses arrive

 3:45-4:45pm: Recreation Program (Rec)

 4:45pm: Late bus arrives

 *For specific activities and dates look for the monthly after school calendar in each Whitehorse Newsletter.

 *Students must participate in a homework club, specialty club, or sport activity from 2:50-3:30pm in order to attend the Rec Program.

 

 Clubs

 6th, 7th, and 8th grade homework clubs; academic support for all students.

 Specialty clubs based on students’ interest, staff availability, and funding

  Rec

 The Rec program meets in the gym or a classroom and participates in fun games, sports, relays, arts and crafts, video games, community service projects, and much more!

 Intramural Sports

 After School sports are also sponsored by MSCR with staff members serving as coaches. Sports are available to 7th and 8th graders and are co-ed.

The goal of MSCR after school programs is to provide Whitehorse students a safe place to “hang out” after school while participating in positive social, recreational, and educational activities. Clubs, Sports, and Rec are free to all students!
